Hiked today from Orbitur Campsite to Marinhas, about 8.5 miles.
John was up early, meditating and relaxing. I woke about 6 and was up by 630, we were out the door by 7. It was a nice cool morning. We walked to Fao to get coffee, a very small family run shop and the coffee was wonderful.
We walked through towns, beaches, and farmland today. I noted that I hadn't seen a cow yet, 2 goats, no chickens either (but I hear them).
We planned a shorter day so our bodies could recuperate. My feet ached most the previous night, but my morning they were better.
I wore different socks today, I had issues with my calves from yesterday with the socks. Skin is red and irritated. I changed socks at the cafe, thinner and shorter, I noticed the difference quickly.
Stopped for snack and cold drink, and feet resting about 11:15 in Esposende. The albergue was close, only a few km away, we arrived by noon. We were the first ones to arrive and typical albergue fashion, check in would be at 2.
While we waited, John got some lunch for us, he took nap, and I did some blog stuff. We've been eating lite here - just not hungry mostly and access to food isn't convenient. It feels good to feel lighter.
After employee showed up, we got checked in. We picked bunk in corner and ran down to take shower. Odd way to have shower, but it had no temperature control, push button for water and it came out HOT! A little difficult to shower and rinse in scalding water, but we managed. Washed our clothes, hung to dry and made our next plan...a nice glass of port. It was calling from the corner bar and we answered.
It's now 7:27....albergue is very quiet. People tend to disappear in the evening and reappear at bed time.
It's been a good day. Tomorrow will be about 13 miles....
