Had a good night sleep in hostel. Got up about 600am. We were packed and out by 630, got coffee a few doors down and hit the road about 7.
Walked above the beach all day into Caminha. At the small town square we had snacks and rested our feet. We took the small water taxi from Caminha to A Guarda, from Portugal into Spain.
The path to the Albergue wasn't clear and we almost got lost winding through the old town. Route to Albergue was about 8 miles, my shin was in really bad shape by then.
Albergue opened at 4pm, we arrived at 1:15, we left a note then headed out for drinks and feet resting. Returned at 3ish so we could be certain to have a spot. The albergue was simple but nice with warm shower and comfy beds for 36 people at only €5 each.
We took showers, washed clothes and headed back out to explore. We ended up down on the waterfront where a special festival had started so it was busy.
We had dinner and took a too long of a walk back to albergue. By now, my leg was screaming in pain and our plans to walk next day looked bleak. We went to bed unsure of the next day.

Thank you for your blog - I admire you, John and all the Camino walkers very much. It is such a spiritual endeavor.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone should "walk" some of the Camino and experience being a "peregrino".
