The crowd at the albergue - about 20 people - were gone by 7:30 am. We were slow to get up and slow to leave. We enjoyed our leisurely spent time here. We didn't venture more than 1/4 of a mile from the albergue....just relaxed, ate and drank.
Our new friend, Luis, from Mamba Jamba, we will miss. We are so glad we met him and got to enjoy his wonderful food.
So, of course, first thing we packed, threw our packs on our backs and hiked down to Mamba Jamba for avocado toast! Love it.
Then we hit the road for Milladoiro - I was amazed at the number of people in front of us and behind us. We were only about 10 miles from Santiago de Compostela at this point.
Walk today was uphill most the way, some flat areas, but then up again. A good enough mixture that it didn't wear me out. Trail went through narrow paths and alleys. A few well maintained yards with beautiful gardens.
We arrived in Milladoiro about 11 am and decided to get coffee and pastry. Nice relaxing time after our walk. Then we found a place for lunch and water. John stayed at the bar while I went to check in at Hotel Payro and get cash - we were running very low.
Who would have known that getting Euros from my US bank account would be so difficult. Complicated machine, which I attempted to figure out on my own, but no luck. I went inside to get help, it was 1:05. Bank closes at 1:15....yup. Then only 1 employee spoke English. Finally, she took me outside and pushed all the buttons, except my PIN and voila, euros pop out of the machine.
Went back to get John. We returned to the Hotel, showered and rested....nap for John.
Tomorrow is our official last walking day.....it's been a good day!
