Got up at 5:30am, left about 6:09, we expected a very hot day and it was a 12 mile day.
Walked coast on boardwalk good part of the morning. Then inland through towns, way markings were almost nonexistent. A couple of times we were unsure of where to go. Stopped at a beach with a beer snack stand with surf classes to have drink, lunch, and foot break.
I changed into my sandals, having some weird issues with my feet. My feet cooled off, but the tingling issue didn't go away. Took some Naproxen and hoped it would go away.
The boardwalk along the beach was in various stages of needing repairs and new. We walked past a blockage because we didn't want to go around. I wish I had taken photos of it....
Arrived in town at about 1:00 PM, about 7 hours of walking. My feet were in really bad shape by then. We ordered sandwiches and water "with gas" - as they call carbonated water here. A little after 2 we walked to hotel and checked in. Took shower and a needed nap.
Got up from nap at about 4:15, John took shower, washed clothes and made our indoor clothesline.
We found a nice little place across from the beach for dinner and drink. Met 2 guys walking Camino from New Zealand and UK. They've done several Caminos in parts, a few weeks at a time.
Many Europeans do parts of the Camino every year, sometimes a few times a year. Easy for them to get to Spain or start from wherever they live.
A few people have been surprised that John and I would come from US to walk, they don't understand the appeal.
