July 20th - 12th walk day

We left the hostel this morning at about 715.  We had a 6 mile walk ahead to a municipal run albergue in Valga. My leg felt good and had no swelling so we're off to a good start.

Walked through a very old neighborhood with some neat bridge stone work, very talented stone masons back then.

The walk almost the entire route ran parallel to the highway on gravel roads and along a stream.  The walk was cool, except for the hills, which were killer.  Did some sweating for sure.

Walked about an hour, maybe two until we found cafe for coffee and pastry.  It was filling up with Pilgrims. A pair from US who asked if we were part of the Seattle group.  Funny that there is one and we haven't run into them yet.

Arrived at albergue at 10:09, made really good time.  Walked across street for snack and water, we had a long wait ahead.  This albergue opened at 1 PM, but fortunately we had big trees and park to wait in.  John took short nap and then meditated. I did some writing.

The albergue is run by the city and has beds for 78, €12 each.  It's the largest albergue so far.

We've mapped out and scheduled the rest of the trip.   All relatively short days so I don't over do it.  Although my leg is better, the last mile today was tough.

Got into the albergue - John was still meditating so I didn't bother him.  I checked it, got beds by the window and got a shower.  We've found most places are more comfortable if we sleep close to or by the window.

I washed clothes and hung them, about then John arrived.  I showed him around and then we went to eat at a different bar.  Food and atmosphere are much better.

It's 930pm, the albergue has only 7 Pilgrims sleeping here, and it can handle 78.  Apparently the night before it had over 42 pilgrims. Today, being a Saturday may or may not have anything to do with it.

A couple here from Brazil, 2 girls from Madrid, and an older gentleman from I don't know where.

The sun is setting and everyone is coming back to go to bed.  It was a good day.
