It's 6:09 am, July 6th. Yesterday was good day, about 8 miles. Late start due to rough sleeping night.
Walk was along beaches either on granite pavers or boardwalk. We had some breeze which was helpful. John discovered an issue with his insole in his shoe, which was rubbing on his toe. A few small fixes and we are hoping that fixed it.
Houses in Portugal are tiled (glazed ceramic) or stucco or combination of both. Very simple style, efficient.
Walked from Matosinhos to Labruge. Found Albergue in Labruge at 430, lucky to get spot and a very nice place. Went to store and then for a glass of Port. Very relaxing evening, met some wonderful people.
Couple from UK has been walking for 55 days. Did the route over Pyrenees to Santiago then to Muxia and Finistere. Then back to Santiago and now on way down to Porto. The woman asked for time off from her job at school (22 yr employee), she was denied, so she quit.
Really good night in Labruge.
